Grand Reopening of Brand New Studio on W72nd Street!
We recently moved to a comfortable and spacious space on 72nd and West End Avenue. This space is completely
devoted to piano practice and lessons only, and contains a beautiful grand Steinway piano. Parents
and friends can relax on our comfy couch while students have their lessons. Young siblings are welcome as we have
a small selection of toys, books, and coloring for them to keep busy. The building has an elevator, and our studio
is fully soundproofed.
Playing on a Steinway grand piano is very important for preparing for
our studio recitals, which happen twice per year, as well as for any auditions or other performances students may have.
We invite all potential students to come for a trial lesson and check out our beautiful space.

Piano Training In Early Childhood Has Lasting Rewards
Here is a an interesting article about the benefits of piano lessons for children: There is an
undeniably strong correlation between music education and the development of skills that children need to become successful
in life. Self-discipline, patience, sensitivity, coordination, and the ability to memorize and concentrate are all enhanced
in the study of music. These skills will follow your child on whatever path he or she chooses in life. You have the chance
now to introduce a formative influence that may be second only to the love you give your child. If you’re looking for
a way to provide your child with a source of life-long joy, satisfaction, and accomplishment, childhood music education is
an excellent first step. more

This is a brand new addition to our website!
Here I will be posting the news and upcoming events at Riverside
Piano Studio. As we are approaching the new school’s year, let me write about a few highlights
of the last year:

We had two wonderful student recitals (in February and June), both of which took place at the Estonian House
on East 34th Street in Manhattan. This year there was an especially great turnout of the adult students who decided
to come and perform in front of the audience.

A couple of special musical event in the lives of my students took place last year:
Emmanuelle Stephan
became a First Prize Winner in the Claude Kahn Piano Competition in Paris, France!!!
…and Aglaia
Ho became a finalist in the Long Island Composers' Alliance 34th Music “By
and For Students” Concert and was invited to perform her own piano piece "The Animal Suite" in Hofstra University.
